CARA was established in 1982 to represent residents’ interests against the widening of the Archway Road. Ever since the lifting of this threat to our immediate environment and properties, CARA has continued to oppose inappropriate developments in the area, lobby for the adequate maintenance of our streets and services, and address inconsistencies and mistakes by Council departments. CARA acts as a lobby group in its own right, communicates with the local MP and councillors and collaborates with the Highgate Conservation Area Advisory Committee and the Joint Conservation Area Committee on local architectural and planning issues. We are a member of the Haringey Federation of Residents Associations.
